The Positive and Fighting Spirits (PHILIPPINE RESILIENCY)

The Philippines is located near West Basin and at the Pacific Ring of Fire that's why it is called a "disaster-prone" country. It experiences a lot of of disaster like volcanic eruption, earthquake, and typhoons. There are 20-26 typhoons entering the Philippine Area of Responsibility and the Philippines already experienced war.

The Filipinos had faced a lot of challenges in life. These include the war in Marawi. Last May 23, 2017, the Battle of Marawi started. It was a 5-month long armed conflict between the Philippine Government Security Forces, and Maute and Abusayaff groups. The war ended on October 23, 2017. the typhoon Yolanda, also known as "typhoon Haiyan" devastated some portions of the Southeast Asia, and one of the country who suffered from the typhoon is the Philippines. People died, many innocent lives were taken, some went missing, some drowned in the flood, some sacrificed, but despite of these disasters, Filipinos still smile like how the Sun shines, even though we went through a lot of difficulties.

Filipinos are flexible. They still manage to stay happy and be at peace even though pain is killing them. They learn to accept and let go, although they can't forget the sorrow. Resiliency can be seen. how they cope up with the hatreds, pain and sorrows, and they still have hope for a better tomorrow. They still have faith to God, holding unto His promise and as their savior. You can see how their faith and braveness outshine even death is surrounding them.
